Osprey Marine offers boating courses throughout the year at various locations or we will come to your location if you would like to sponsor a course. In addition to the following list of courses we are available to provide guest speakers on all phases of recreational and commercial boating. Let us know what your organization would like and we will make every effort to comply with your wishes.

New York State Safe Boating Certificate Course - Offered as a one day session (8 hours) or two evenings. Upon satisfactory completion students are issued the New York State Safe Boating Certificate. This course is now required by anyone operating a PWC in New York State or for anyone between the ages of 10 and 18 who wishes to operate a power boat without adult supervision. It is recognized by neighboring states and may reduce your boating insurance costs. It is highly recommended for anyone operating a pleasure vessel.

Small Vessel Close Quarters Handling (on board your vessel or ours) - maneuvering the vessel into a slip under various conditions, man overboard drills, etc.

Charts and Navigation - Use of marine charts and traditional methods of navigation, set & drift, ETA, compass and the use of GPS chartmaps.
